Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The house was a great size, very comfortable and modern, and private. Just us and some cows for a couple of miles. The fixed beds were super comfy (sofa beds a bit thin & very creaky).The rooms were lovely and big, as was the gorgous open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge. Fantastic layout upstairs and doenstairs. The pool table and hub tub were a massive hit! Kept the teenagers occupied so the adults could chat. The owners are lovely and super helpful. The whole family had a great weekend here.

Negative: Only having 2x toilets and 2x showers when there were 12 of us in the house (4x families), proved really tricky. It would have been perfect if the huge upstairs bathroom was split into 2x, providing an additional separate toilet/shower facility. The freestanding bath looked great but no one used it. A local shop & pub were at least a 10-15 drive away (5 mile walk but not walkable). There isn't a big supermarket close - 25 mins drive. The house is about a mile drive down a gravel track from the sign that says little pale - the arrow could benefit from being bigger and clearer. A lot of people went straight on rather than turning right down the gravel track drive. I would suggest some more signage along the track to reassure you you're going the right way and nearly there as it feels like a very long way. I would also recommend the owner deals with booking directly. Sykes Holidays are and were useless! Never answer the phone and take data to respond!
