Visit for a choice of welcoming pubs, restaurants and shops, or head 14 miles west to the pretty fishing port of Dingle for locally sourced seafood, historic inns and boat trips into the bay and the Blasket Islands beyond. For an alternative fresh-air experience, get off the beaten track and visit Glanteenassig Forest Park (15 miles) where there’s over 450 hectares of woodland, mountain, lake and peatland to explore.
