As from 31st august 2018, the humber royal hotel will no longer accept cash payments on arrival for any bookings. all guests will be required to complete a pre-authorization using their credit or debit card on arrival. if a guest cannot provide the hotel with a pre-authorization then the hotel reserves the right to refuse the guest and cancel the reservation. all pre-authorizations will be canceled for each guest on their departure from the hotel. any guests wishing to pay cash can do so on their departure.guests are required to show a photo id and credit card upon check-in. please note that all special requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Positive: Location suited our requirements.

Negative: Was informed 2 days before arrival the restaurant would be closed Saturday night. On Sunday evening, found the restaurant does not do food on Sunday. Allegedly, this is in the confirmation email. To order a drink at the bar, you were required to walk to reception and ring for service. Once you received your drinks, you had to go back to reception to pay for them.

Summary: Very disappointed.
